Re: News & Events Term III and upcoming events for the Academic Year 2011-2012:
We are indeed grateful to God for His protection and guidance throughout the Academic Year 2010-2011. We thank you for your continued support and cooperation and request you to take note of the following events and guidelines:
1.1 : STATE LEVEL SCIENCE EXHIBITION 2011: We congratulate our student P. Jahnavi of std.VII who was awarded FIRST PRIZE in the theme "Transport and communication" at the State level Science Exhibition 2011 held from 04.01.2011 to 07.01.2011 at Mahaboob Nagar District, A.P. Over 1000 teachers, and 1500 students from 23 Districts in the State participated in the exhibition with 750 exhibits.
2.1 : CHARACTER EDUCATION: Character Education brings a whole new approach to school education, and prepares students for the World of tomorrow and the huge global opportunities and challenges. Moral, spiritual foundation alone can mould the personality of the child. Character Education classes for the final Term were conducted on the following `Pillars of Character':
a) CARING: Caring is to be kind, compassionate, express gratitude, forgive others and help people in need. A symbol of compassion – Mother Teresa spent her life taking care of the poor, the out cast, the maimed, the aged and the dying. Mother Teresa's message of love and hope reached millions. A video is included on her ministry of compassion, faith and humility.
b) CITIZENSHIP: Citizenship is to respect authority, obey laws and rules, exercise Franchise, be a good neighbor, cooperate, get involved in your community and protect the environment.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, a scientist, patriot and former President of India has published a book "Ignited Minds – unleash the power within India" and exhorts the youth to develop a National vision. A video on Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who was popularly called the Peoples' President is included in the Module.
3.1 : COMMUNICATION, READING SKILLS AND PHONICS: The role of English language in modern Education is very significant. Our passion for the language should be reflected even in our speech and mannerisms. Systematic knowledge of the essence of phonics is all important for a better prolific expression of ideas. Sr. Principal Ms. P. Vijaya George has conducted classes regularly to the students on communication skills, phonics and comprehensive reading practice is given.
4.1 : SMART CLASSES & SAS MODULES: SMART CLASS Modules and SAS has made learning an interesting experience for students, enabled Multi sensory learning in classrooms and has improved the Academic performance of students.
5.1 : FIELD TRIP: Field trips provide knowledge and enjoyment. Std.VIII visited Meena Biscuit Company, Bhimavaram on 08.01.2011.
6.1 : SCHOOL TIMINGS DURING MARCH,2011 TO APRIL,2011: The school timings for the Summer months March,2011 and April,2011 are revised as requested by the Parents w.e.f. Monday 21.03.2011.
Timings 08:30 A.M. to 02:05 P.M. only.
7.1 : SUMMATIVE EXAMINATIONS:
a) Syllabus for all classes of the Final Term is completed and Revision is being given in all subjects.
b) SA-2 Examinations for std.VIII and IX are being conducted from 18.03.2011 to 25.03.2011 and results will be declared on Thursday, 31.03.2011. Date sheet and portions were issued vide our Circular No.05000 dated 29.09.2010.
Classes for IX and X for the Academic Year 2011-2012 will commence from 01 April 2011 i.e. Friday.
c) SA-3 Examinations from Jr.Kg. to std.VII will be conducted from 29.03.2011 to 06.04.2011. The Date sheet and portions were issued vide our Circular No.05181 dated 17.12.2010.
The Examination scheduled on Monday, 04.04.2011 is preponed to 29.03.2011 due to Ugadi Festival on 04.04.2011. Kindly make note of this change.
d) Promotion results for Jr.Kg. to std.VII will be declared on 13.04.2011 and report books will be issued with class photographs.
School fees for the months of April and May should be remitted by 15.04.2011 along with the Transport fee for the month of April,2011.
8.1 : NEW ACADEMIC YEAR 2011-2012: New Academic Year 2011-2012 will commence from 07 April 2011. The Academic Year is divided into two(2) Terms:
FIRST TERM : April, 2011 – September, 2011
SECOND TERM : October, 2011 – March, 2012
9.1 : SUMMER VACATION: SUMMER VACATION for all classes i.e. Jr.Kg. to std.X will commence from 01.05.2011 to 12.06.2011. The School reopens on Monday, 13.06.2011. The School timings shall be as usual 08:30 A.M. to 04:00 P.M.
10.1 : VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: VBS classes will be conducted by the Vacation Bible School and Child Education Ministries, Bangalore as follows:

REGISTRATION FEE : Rs.130/-
DATE : From 02.05.2011 to 11.05.2011
TIME : 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Snacks will be served at the School Cafeteria. Free Transport facility for the local students and from Chittavaram, Digamarru, Sagamcheruvu, Palakol, Sakhinetipalli and Razole will be provided to attend VBS classes. Students who wish to participate can remit the fee Rs.130/- to the Librarian Mr. K. Rameswara Rao on/before 15.04.2011.
11.1 : STUDENT DATA BASE: Parents are requested to update the student data base for the next Academic Year 2011-2012, if there are any changes in communication address, telephone Number, Cell number for SMS messages, transport facility, the location/Bus stop etc.
12.1 : TEXT BOOKS & NOTE BOOKS: Text books and note books for the Next Academic Year will be available in the School Stores from Friday, 25.03.2011 onwards. All payments must be made in the Accounts Office and the book set can be collected from the Books stores on submission of receipt.
13.1 : CHANGE OF SCHOOL UNIFORM: Many parents/students favour the old School Uniform which is unique and has been identified with J. Sikile School for many years as such the uniform is changed to Blue colour w.e.f. June,2011,
Boys : Shirt – Light blue
Pant/Skirt - Dark blue
Girls : Top – Light blue
Churidar/skirt – Dark blue
Chunni – Dark blue
Uniform material is also available and a sample is displayed in the School Stores. White Uniform on Mondays and special occasions remains the same.
14.1 : FEE REVISION FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2011-2012: The fee applicable for the Academic Year 2011-2012 is increased as follows w.e.f. June,2011.
Jr.Kg. & Sr.Kg. : Rs.125/- p.m.
Std. I - VIII : Rs.150/- p.m.
Std. IX & X : Rs.175/- p.m.
A discount of 4% on the full year School fee is offered to those who remit the full Academic Year's fee 2011-2012 at one time in April,2011.
15.1 : WITHDRAWALS: Parents intending to withdraw their children should submit a written application at least one(1) month in advance and should pay the required fee for T.C. Transfer certificate will not be issued until all the fees for 12 months and any other dues are paid for those who leave at the end of the year.
A written notice of withdrawal should be given one(1) Calendar month in advance or else the fees for the following month will be charged for those who wish to leave in the middle of the Academic Year.
16.1 : NEW ADMISSIONS – 2011-2012: Admissions into Kindergarten, Std. I to IX are in progress for the Academic Year 2011-2012. Application and prospectus can be obtained at the School Reception.
